Paston Sixth Form College is seeking an enthusiastic Lecturer in Criminology to join our team. You will plan and deliver engaging Criminology lessons for post-16 learners, monitor progress and provide timely intervention where required.

You will act as a form tutor, support student development, and contribute to curriculum planning while upholding safeguarding and welfare standards across the college.

Qualifications

  • Honours degree in Criminology.
  • Qualified teacher status.
  • Post-16 teaching experience in Criminology.
  • Knowledge of assessment requirements and marking CA's.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and inclusive learning.
  • Strong track record of supporting student achievement.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver outstanding Criminology teaching to post-16 learners.
  • Plan, prepare and assess learning programmes.
  • Monitor student progress, attendance and achievement.

Job description

You will be responsible for delivering high-quality teaching, learning and assessment that inspires students to succeed. You will plan and deliver engaging lessons, monitor and support student progress, contribute to curriculum development, and play an active role in the wider life of the College. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to make a real difference to students' academic achievement and personal development while contributing to a collaborative and ambitious teaching environment. What You'll Be Doing Key responsibilities include:

  • Delivering outstanding Criminology teaching to post-16 learners.
  • Planning, preparing and assessing learning programmes to ensure excellent student outcomes.
  • Monitoring student progress, attendance and achievement, providing timely intervention and support where required.
  • Acting as a Form tutor, providing pastoral support, guidance and encouragement to students.
  • Contributing to curriculum planning, development and quality improvement activities.
  • Participating in open events, interviews, enrolment activities and student recruitment initiatives.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to support learner success and continuous improvement.
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding, equality, health and safety, and data protection requirements.

  • Has a proactive approach to monitoring student performance and using data to improve outcomes.
