About our Department:

The Department is part of the School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Law at Arden University, and delivers undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in criminology and cybercrime with joint programmes in psychology and law. Our criminology courses are global in scope, and we have a diverse and international student body who study at Arden University because of the flexibility that our degrees offer. We also place a strong emphasis on employability skills and active, authentic learning to enable our graduates to compete both nationally and internationally within and beyond the criminal justice sector.

About the Opportunity:

In this role you will be required to contribute to the development and delivery of our undergraduate provision. You will:

  • Deliver excellent teaching and learning for our students.
  • Design excellent digital teaching material for undergraduate study ensuring that content and methods of delivery meet defined learning objectives.
  • Manage own teaching activity and reflect on practice and development of skills, with support/guidance as needed.
  • Undertake administrative activities to support teaching and learning activities.
  • Actively contribute to Department level activity.
  • Work closely with the School of Psychology to complement our suite of joint programmes.
About You:

To succeed in this role, you will need:

Essential requirements:

  • A Masters (MSc/MA/MRes) or equivalent qualification in Criminology, Criminal Justice or a related discipline.
  • Experience in teaching, learning, and assessment practices in Higher Education.
  • A track record of successfully contributing to programme teams and being an inspiring and creative lecturer.

Desirable requirements:

  • A PhD level qualification in Criminology or a closely related field, or significant progress towards its completion.
  • Ideally, you will hold FHEA or an equivalent teaching qualification. However, we are prepared to support the successful candidate in obtaining a recognised HE teaching Qualification and advanced HE Fellowship at the appropriate level.
  • A background in psychology or cyber crime.
