A regional education provider is seeking a Lecturer in Construction (Multi-Skills) to teach and assess students in various construction trades. We have a fantastic opportunity for you to support the next generation of Construction Trades workers, starting their journey with a construction Multi-Skills course, inspiring them to progress into one of the dedicated trades of their choosing.
South Tyneside College has an opportunity available for a Lecturer in Multi-skills to join us to develop, prepare and deliver high quality education and training programmes and to provide other professional support to help the College meet its objectives.
The role is to teach and assess specialist units in Entry level and Level 1 Construction Skills qualifications. This includes maintaining discipline, safe working practices, communication skills and working efficiently and effectively.
You will have full responsibility for allocated learners to ensure retention, progression and achievement.
You will be delivering underpinning knowledge and coaching, producing learning plans and schemes of work where relevant.
As part of your role, you will work with groups of construction learners and deliver practical training within the dedicated workshops on various trade processes, currently covering Brickwork, Carpentry or Plastering or Tiling. In addition to the practical delivery, you will be responsible for delivery of the underpinning theory in a classroom setting. These will include Health & Safety, Construction Principles and trade specific knowledge Skills and behaviours, to further develop learners' understanding and ability.
