Overview

East Durham College is looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Lecturer in Construction to deliver high-quality teaching and learning across Levels 1, 2, and 3. This is a fantastic opportunity to help shape the future of learners entering the construction industry.

What Youll Be Doing

• Deliver engaging theory and practical sessions aligned with industry standards.
• Prepare and adapt teaching materials, including digital content.
• Assess student work and provide constructive feedback.
• Support curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
• Provide academic and pastoral support to learners.
• Facilitate employer engagement and work experience opportunities.
• Participate in team meetings, events, and CPD activities.
• Uphold college policies including safeguarding, equality, and health & safety.

Essential

• Level 2 qualification in a construction-related trade.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English.
• Level 6 teaching qualification (Cert Ed/PGCE/DTLLS) or willingness to work towards.
• Assessor Award.
• Experience teaching a range of learners (1419+).
• Proven success in delivering high-quality Construction provision.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and awarding body procedures.
• Strong communication and time management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Full UK Driving Licence and/or access to a vehicle.

Desirable

• Internal Verifier (IV) Award.
• Experience teaching students with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Ability to monitor and analyse learner data effectively.
