We are the largest provider of Nursing, Midwifery, Health and Social Care students in the East of England, and we are also among the UK’s leading universities for degree apprenticeship provision, working with hundreds of employers across the UK.

About the Role:
The Cambridge School of Creative Industries is a thriving multi-disciplinary department, with world-leading research and committed to research-informed teaching. As one of the key disciplines of the school, our Games area delivers three undergraduate and two postgraduate courses. Our curriculum combines specialised training and industry-typical collaboration, with students benefitting from our industry exchanges, which involve live briefs, game jams, and competitions, e.g., Gamebridge.

We are seeking to appoint a dedicated Lecturer. You will contribute to the core curriculum on the BA (Hons) Computer Games Design course, which since 2024 is delivered also in Chelmsford. As a member of the Games team, you will also contribute to other areas of course delivery, e.g., project supervisions, and module/course development and administration, while being invited to pursue research or knowledge-exchange opportunities.

You will hold a university degree in games development or a related subject area. The role requires proficiency at visual scripting and with Unity/Unreal game engines. You will be experienced in higher/further-education teaching or comparable industry-based mentoring to facilitate students’ learning of games development. You will understand the roles, tasks, and skills associated with games design. You will design and deliver teaching concerning level design, gameplay and systems, while additional knowledge of games narrative, UX/UI and balancing will be valuable. The role will benefit from a firm understanding of the working relationships between games design and other associated disciplines.

Committed to being inclusive and open to discuss flexible working.
