Job summary

University of the West of Scotland invites applications for two Lecturer in Community Education (fixed term) positions based at Ayr campus, with some teaching at Lanarkshire campus. Candidates should have CLD Standards Council approved degree in Community Education or related field, full CLD registration or eligible, and a Master’s degree or near completion.

Fellowship of Advance HE desirable. You will contribute to high-quality teaching, curriculum design, and assessment, with strong emphasis

Qualifications

  • CLD Standards Council approved degree in Community Education or closely related discipline.
  • Full registration with CLD Standards Council Scotland or eligible to register at appointment.
  • Master's degree (or near completion).
  • Evidence of using a range of pedagogical approaches in teaching Community Education.
  • Evidence of learning, teaching and assessment experience within higher education.
  • Strong knowledge of contemporary pedagogies related to Community Education.
  • Experience in module and/or programme administration.
  • Evidence of designing and delivering co-creative, active learning and assessment.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to high-quality, research-informed teaching and curriculum design, learning and assessment.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance student experience and graduate outcomes.
  • Produce high-quality research outputs and pursue external funding opportunities.
  • Deliver teaching informed by contemporary pedagogies, co-creation, active learning and digital education.
  • Support international engagement and excellence in education, research and learning.

Education

CLD Standards Council approved undergraduate degree in Community Education or closely related discipline
Master's degree (or near completion)
Full registration with CLD Standards Council Scotland or eligible to register
Fellowship of Advance HE is desirable
Experience with a range of pedagogical approaches in teaching Community Education
Higher education teaching, learning and assessment experience
Interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance student experience
Module/program administration experience
