Job description

The Department of Life Sciences is seeking to appoint a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Biotechnology to strengthen the team that delivers our highly successful MSc Biotechnology degree, while contributing to our undergraduate programmes. The role is offered as a full-time permanent (tenured) appointment. There is no compulsory retirement age.

This represents an outstanding opportunity for a lecturer join the vibrant department of Life Sciences and its interdisciplinary research centres. Current research strengths include, but are not restricted to, medical, microbial, and plant biotechnology, the evolution of drug resistance, and the development of novel drugs for health and agriculture.

Please note that we are also currently recruiting a Lecturer (teaching and research) for the MSc Biotechnology degree.

About the Department

The Department of Life Sciences at the University of Bath is located on the main University campus, in close proximity to the Departments of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics. There is a strong interdisciplinary and collaborative culture across departments, fostered by a number of research centres including those for Bioengineering and Biomedical Technologies, Drug Discovery, Mathematical Biology and Milner Centre for Evolution.
