Main duties and responsibilities
To develop and deliver existing undergraduate and postgraduate modules on degree programmes within the School of Life and Medical Sciences. Contribute towards the development of new programmes such as Medicine and MSc Neuroscience. Engage in scholarly activities including conducting research aligned with the School’s interests, focusing on pedagogic research, curriculum development, or involvement in commercial activities for the School.
Skills and experience required
Demonstrable industry, Higher Education, and/or research experience within a relevant discipline related to neuroscience/neurobiology. Teaching experience in Higher Education with an understanding of pedagogical principles is advantageous. Knowledge of major subject areas related to teaching Pharmacology-focused degree programmes at postgraduate level. Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines. Ability to undertake scholarly activities and conduct research aligned with the department’s research needs.
Qualifications required
Lecturer: BSc (Hons) degree in Pharmacology or an equivalent bioscience-related subject (e.g., Biomedical Science). A PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant bioscience discipline, and a Senior Fellowship/Fellowship of Advance HE is desirable.
Senior Lecturer: BSc (Hons) degree in Pharmacology or an equivalent bioscience-related subject (e.g., Biomedical Science), a Masters degree in a bioscience-related subject, and a PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant bioscience discipline. A Senior Fellowship/Fellowship of Advance HE is desirable.
