Job summary

The Bartlett School of Architecture at UCL is seeking a Lecturer (Teaching) in Lab Bio-ID to support teaching and research in the Bio-ID Laboratory at UCL Here East. The role is a 1.0 FTE fixed-term contract for 12 months to cover maternity leave, delivering practical sessions and supervising projects.

You will develop teaching materials, provide feedback and assessment, and oversee lab health and safety, equipment maintenance and inventory management.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate qualification or equivalent professional experience in biology, microbiology, biotechnology or related discipline.
• Hands-on wet lab experience and strong knowledge of laboratory equipment and techniques.
• Ability to deliver practical teaching and supervise students and researchers.
• Strong emphasis on laboratory health and safety, risk assessment and procurement oversight.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scientific skills teaching, practical sessions, tutorials and workshops.
• Develop teaching materials and provide feedback and assessment.
• Oversee lab health and safety and manage day-to-day lab operations.
• Maintain equipment, support procurement and inventory management.
