The Role

This is an opportunity to join a dedicated group of academics in the School of Life Sciences, Pharmacy and Chemistry, which hosts a varied programme of research-led, accredited courses where Analytical Chemistry contributes to the core of the Forensic, Pharmaceutical Science, and Chemistry Programmes across two departments within the school (The Department of Chemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and The Department of Applied and Human Sciences). Your role will be to develop and deliver focused applications of Analytical Chemistry to Forensic Analysis, Forensic Toxicology, and Bioanalysis. You will plan, deliver, and assess a range of modules at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, incorporating classroom and practical work in modern laboratories. You will supervise UG and PG research projects and engage in developing your research and/or enterprise activities, utilizing advanced analytical instrumentation supported by university funding. You will also participate in outreach, open days, and personal tutoring.

The Person

You should have expertise in Analytical Chemistry to teach case study-based and application-focused courses in Forensic Toxicology and Bioanalysis across the school's departments. The candidate should have experience in method development, validation, and working to ISO 17025 standards using LCMS, GC-MS/MS, and HPLC, with some background in forensic toxicology, environmental monitoring, or pharmaceuticals. Knowledge of toxicity result interpretation, quality systems, and statistics is essential. A doctorate in a relevant discipline and a commitment to delivering exceptional teaching and research are required. Familiarity with UKPSF recognition or willingness to achieve it is also necessary.
