Role: Lecturer – Health and Social Care

Location: Tresham College – Kettering, Corby and Wellingborough Campuses

Salary/Benefits: Salary from £31,930 per annum (Pro-Rata) DOE and Qualifications, Teacher’s pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.

Hours/Weeks: 37 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent – Full Time

About the role:

We are currently seeking a Lecturer in Health and Social Care to join our Care, Childcare and Counselling department at The Bedford College Group .

As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

  • Overall Responsibilities - Prepare, deliver, assess, and verify subject specialisms; support and guide students; manage learning; contribute to curriculum development; participate in marketing activities; keep CPD up to date.
  • Teaching Duties - Teach effectively across programmes; prepare schemes of work; develop and implement learning materials; assess students' work; monitor and record progress; meet assessment deadlines; maintain records; participate in quality assurance.
  • Student Management - Communicate progress to Programme Manager; extend learning through vocational opportunities; ensure engaging learning environments; uphold Student Code of Conduct; oversee tutors and assistants; complete administrative tasks; participate in course team meetings.
  • Marketing & Development - Participate in marketing activities; interview potential students; contribute to curriculum development; develop new courses; promote and safeguard welfare; carry out additional duties as requested.
  • Statutory Duties - Promote safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety; participate in training and development.

About you:

  • Qualifications - Degree in Health and Social Care; GCSEs in English and Maths; Certificate in Education (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Experience - Recent industry experience; knowledge of current developments; working with diverse backgrounds; promoting equality and diversity; high performance in previous roles.
  • Skills - Organisational skills; working in line with values (Student Centred, Educational Excellence, Teamwork, Continuous Improvement, Caring, Inclusive); positive team contribution; strong interpersonal and influencing skills; promoting the College's reputation; effective communication.
