With opportunities for professional growth, we welcome applications from enthusiastic educators committed to student success.
Permanent, Part Time (0.4) - £16,164 - £18,264 per annum OR Sessional £39.48 - £47.55 per hour (Two days a week - Thursdays & Fridays)
The School of Foundation, Intermediate Learning and Employability at Kingston College is looking to appoint a Lecturer to teach GCSE Physics with additional responsibilities as a personal tutor. The ability to teach another subject will be an advantage.
A key focus is in helping the Head of Section to ensure that your students meet and exceed their target grades by providing a high-quality student experience and outstanding outcomes in Physics. The role encompasses working on teaching schemes, assessment schedules, and student monitoring. Contribution to self–assessment, timetabling, and staff development form component parts of this role too.
As our Lecturer, we’d like you to hold a degree or relevant professional qualification in an appropriate subject, hold a teaching qualification (or be willing to work towards one), and have excellent teaching skills in Physics. You should be able to support, motivate, and empathize with learners, including monitoring their progress. An awareness of academic quality standards and recent relevant CPD participation is also desirable.
With energy, enthusiasm, and passion for the subject and education, you’ll be able to use new technologies to enhance teaching and learning. You should be receptive to new ideas and initiatives, with a creative approach to problem solving. Good planning, preparation, organizational, and administrative skills with attention to detail are essential, along with the ability to work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
We welcome applications from newly qualified teachers.
The successful candidate will be eligible for any increase in salary as a consequence of the annual cost of living review that will be implemented in the new academic year.
Closing date for the return of completed applications is 26th June 2025.
We offer a generous benefits package, including an excellent pension scheme (Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme), subsidized sports facilities, professional development and training, and a salary sacrifice cycle-to-work scheme.
