Our Ofsted Outstanding Foundation Department is growing, and we require engaging teachers to join us. You will be teaching in our LDD/SEND provision, which includes supporting learners with severe learning difficulties, moderate learning difficulties, and work-based learning all themed around the preparing for adulthood agenda.
Andover College has developed a bespoke curriculum for young people with learning difficulties, ensuring all students develop their employability and independence skills; that they are part of the community, both the college and the wider Andover community; and that they have time to learn the skills to keep them healthy. The provision is outcome-focused, and students are encouraged to be aspirational. Our study programmes are practical and hands-on, with strong links in the wider community. We are also working closely with Hampshire County Council on a five-day offer for young people leaving school at 16 and developing community groups for life after college in conjunction with adult services. This role offers the chance to make a real difference to the lives of young people with learning difficulties.
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Qualifications required: Degree, Teaching Qualification, or willingness to attain a level 5 teaching qualification for which support will be provided.
Desirable: Experience of entry-level and level one curriculums, various awarding bodies including City and Guilds, ASDAN and Laser and/or RARPA (recognising and recording progress and achievement).
If you are looking to make a career change and move into teaching, we will fully support you to be successful by offering you time to undertake the course and 100% financial support towards the cost of the course. This can be fully discussed at interview along with the terms and conditions which apply. We require all academic staff to hold a teaching qualification so that, along with our extensive range of annual continuous professional development, staff are able to provide students with an outstanding learning experience. Further information about transitioning to the FE sector can be found here.
We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should sufficient applications be received.
