Role: Lecturer - Early Years Higher Education

Hours: 24.5 hours per week

Salary: £33,351.00 - £47,397.00 pro-rata

Pension Contributions: 28.68% (£9,286.30 - £13,196.82 FTE)

Location: Stockport (must be able to travel to all 5 campuses)

The Role:

Stockport College’s University Centre is seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Lecturer in Early Years, Childhood, or Youth Studies. This position is suitable for candidates with experience in Early Years, education, children’s services, or youth work, who hold the relevant qualifications, including an appropriate degree. The successful applicant will teach across our BA (Hons) Childhood Studies, Foundation Degree in Early Years Practice, and Foundation Degree in Working with Children and Young People. These programmes, validated and awarded by Sheffield Hallam University, are designed for practitioners and aspiring professionals working with children and young people across diverse settings.

In this role, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging, practice-informed seminars that support students in their academic and workplace learning. You will teach modules such as Child Development, Social Policy, Safeguarding, Leadership and Management, and Reflective Practice.

As an Early Years Lecturer, you will:

  • Develop and deliver innovative and inclusive curriculum content that meets the needs of diverse learners.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and technologies to enhance student learning and engagement.
  • Provide academic support and guidance to students, helping them to achieve their full potential.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with the latest research and best practices in early childhood education.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the development of the department's programs and initiatives.
