Job summary

The University of Huddersfield London Campus, in partnership with Study Group, invites applications for a permanent full-time academic post at the London Campus. You will design teaching material and deliver across modules, using appropriate methods to ensure student progress and success.

You will mark assessments, provide feedback, supervise projects, maintain attendance records, act as a personal tutor, and contribute to curriculum development, external networks and research activity.

Qualifications

• PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong research and publication record in recognised journals and conferences.
• Fellowship of Advance HE or to be achieved within 12 months of appointment.
• Experience teaching undergraduate modules in subjects such as Network Fundamentals, Architecture, Mathematics, Programming, Data Structures, AI, OS, Databases & Web Integration.
• Experience teaching postgraduate modules in topics like Autonomic Intelligent Systems, Data Mining, ML, Semantic Web, Software Development, Web & Network Services.

Responsibilities

• Design teaching material and deliver across modules using appropriate teaching methods to ensure student progress.
• Design, mark and provide feedback on formative and summative assessments.
• Plan and develop learning outcomes and materials within the subject team.
• Contribute to curriculum content and delivery improvements.
• Supervise student projects, field trips and placements.
• Maintain records of attendance and progress, and complete academic administration.
• Act as a personal tutor and provide student support as required.
• Develop an active research record with publications and engagement in scholarship.
• Coordinate and lead small modules within the subject area as needed.
• Participate in external networks and quality assurance processes.
• Contribute to recruitment activities and webinars.
