Job summary

HIRANI in Belfast invites applications for a role to expand the research excellence and strengthen the academic base within the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine, to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, and to contribute to School and Institute administration and outreach.

The post holder will develop a multidisciplinary research program in Cardiovascular Medicine, focusing on Epigenetics, mechanisms of disease and translational targets in cardiovascular disorders,

Qualifications

• Primary Degree and PhD in a related subject area.
• Substantial postdoctoral research experience in a relevant field.
• Strong translational research portfolio in cardiovascular epigenetics and genetics.
• Recent publications in peer reviewed journals of international standing.
• Experience developing research methodologies, models and techniques.
• Experience presenting at national and international meetings and conferences.
• Relevant university-level teaching experience.

Responsibilities

• Expand research excellence and strengthen the academic base within the Wellcome-Wolfson Institute for Experimental Medicine.
• Teach at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
• Contribute to School and Institute administration and outreach activity.
• Develop a multidisciplinary research program in Cardiovascular Medicine with a focus on epigenetics, mechanisms of disease and novel therapeutic targets.
