Job Role: Support worker / Healthcare Assistant

The Support Worker / Healthcare Assistant will be expected to help and assist the team with day-to-day routines, including personal care and feeding.

The Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers must have at least 6 months of experience in care and possess a compassionate attitude.

Healthcare Assistants / Support Workers help with the day-to-day care of patients, either in homes, hospitals, or in patients' own homes. They are vital members of teams in hospitals, homes, and clinics.

As a Healthcare Assistant / Support Worker, you will work under the supervision of nursing staff and alongside other healthcare assistants.

Your duties may include:

• Helping patients with washing, showering, or dressing
• Serving food or assisting with eating
• Making and changing beds
• Turning patients confined to beds to prevent pressure sores
• Talking to patients to reduce anxiety
• Assisting patients with mobility issues
• Managing bedpans and helping patients to the toilet
• Keeping the ward or patients' homes tidy
• Maintaining supplies and equipment

Your daily tasks may involve using mobility aids and equipment to lift and move patients. In hospitals, you may escort patients between departments. With experience, you could participate in induction training for new healthcare assistants.
