An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Worker to join their team at a primary school in Walls. This role involves supporting children with additional support needs, collaborating with teachers and various professionals to create tailored education programs. To support the care, welfare, and education of children and young people with additional support needs (ASN) in accordance with relevant legislation, policy, and guidelines.
A Learning Support Worker may work with any child or group of children within a department, mainstream class, or early learning and childcare (ELC) setting. They may work alongside or under guidance from any teacher and may base their work on an individualised education programme (IEP). This involves collaboration with other professionals such as Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Educational Psychologists, and members of the Educational Outreach Service.

Happyhansel Primary School, located in Walls, is a non-denominational school providing nursery to P7 education for children from Walls, West Burrafirth, and as far east as West Houlland. The school comprises 1 nursery class and 2 composite primary classes, with a total of 36 pupils. Managed by Head Teacher Mrs. Elizabeth Garrick (joint with Sandness), the staff includes 3 teachers supported by additional support staff as needed.
