Job description

Learning Support Worker

Axcis are working in close partnership with a new specialist SEND setting based in Liverpool that provides education for secondary-aged pupils with an EHCP for Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) as well as Autism and Attachment Disorder. They are looking for a full-time Youth Support Worker to start as soon as possible and continue until the end of the academic year for the right candidate.

At this fantastic, brand-new setting, every curriculum is tailored to each student based on their hobbies, interests, and skills, and the school has a very holistic approach to the support they provide. This is a secondary setting currently supporting students from Year 9 to Year 11, with plenty of opportunity for expansion once the right staffing is in place.

The classrooms are diverse – from their brand-new onsite provision to community facilities to the child’s home environment if needed. Each child has a bespoke curriculum consisting of the core offer (Maths, English, and Science) and a selection of foundation subjects alongside a wide range of activities and experiences both on and off-site, for example, woodwork, animal care, horticulture, and various sporting activities.

The hours for this role are Monday to Friday, 08:30-16:00, with students leaving at 14:00 daily. The following hours are spent on CPD, team briefings, handovers, etc. – everyone is part of the team, and inclusivity is felt throughout the school.

The school is looking for people to start as soon as possible and ideally be taken on permanently should they be a good fit, making this an exciting prospect for anyone looking for a full-time permanent position. The pay is very competitive, between £90 - £105 per day depending on previous experience, and you will initially be paid a week in arrears every Friday whilst with Axcis.

If you have personal and/or professional experience with SEMH, Autism, or Attachment Disorder, and if you are compassionate, reliable, caring, adaptable, resilient, and a team player, then do get in touch by applying online.

If you are interested, then please click on the apply button and contact Chris Chambers on 0151 459 9299 | Ext: 3012.

If you are not interested in this role but know someone else who might be, don't forget that we offer £50 in shopping vouchers if you refer a friend to us and we place them in the job. For more details, contact your local Axcis office.

This is a temporary position, unless stated otherwise.
