Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (depending on experience)

About the Role

As a Learning Support Worker (LSW), you will play a crucial role in supporting students on an individual basis. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to provide tailored support, helping students to overcome learning barriers and develop essential skills. You'll also engage in the creative process of preparing lesson materials, motivate classroom activities with your support, and offer valuable feedback on student progress.

Responsibilities of Learning Support Worker (LSW)

  • Support Teachers and Therapists: Collaborate with teachers and therapists to create tailored learning plans that address the specific needs of each student.
  • One-on-One Interventions: Offer individual interventions to help students improve their learning outcomes.
  • Encourage Positive Learning: Teach and reinforce effective study techniques, helping students to understand and engage with their studies.
  • Classroom Support: Work alongside classroom teachers to implement learning strategies that promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor Progress: Maintain detailed records of students’ progress and any interventions used.
  • Liaise with External Agencies: Ensure that students receive comprehensive support by collaborating with counsellors, social workers, and other professionals.

Requirements of Learning Support Worker (LSW)

  • Demonstrate a deep commitment to helping students, exhibiting patience and empathy.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong, supportive relationships with all members of the school community.
