Job summary

Cardinal Newman College in the United Kingdom seeks a flexible Additional Learning Support assistant to aid students with a wide range of learning needs including ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, and physical disabilities. You will help differentiate materials, review targets, and support access to ICT and library resources.

Join a collaborative ALS team, contribute to college aims, and participate in staff development, Open Evenings, and transition activities while promoting safeguarding and equality

Qualifications

• Educated to Level 3 with flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Commitment to equality, diversity and safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate flexible support and development of learning opportunities for students with diverse needs.
• Maintain clear records to review learning needs and progress.
• Liaise with curriculum staff to differentiate materials and support teaching and learning.
• Undertake exam invigilation and assist with arrangements (e.g., scribing).
• Support students with medical needs and mobility issues, and provide personal care where required.
• Assist students with ICT, library resources, and ALS department facilities.
• Contribute to departmental aims and participate in meetings.
• Support college liaison and marketing activities (Open Evenings, Transition meetings).
• Promote College Policies and participate in staff development.
