Cardinal Newman College in Preston seeks an ALS Support Tutor to provide flexible learning support for diverse student needs. You will maintain records, differentiate materials, and support teaching and learning across the ALS department.

Qualifications

• Educated to Level 3
• Flexibility in undertaking a wide range of tasks

Responsibilities

• Facilitate flexible support and development of learning opportunities for students with diverse needs (ASD, ADHD, OCD, visual/hearing impairments, dyslexia, physical needs, dyscalculia).
• Maintain clear, accurate records to review learning needs and set targets for Additional Learning Support, aiding student progress toward minimum target grades.
• Liaise with curriculum staff to differentiate material, enlarge resources, and support teaching and learning.
• Undertake exam invigilation and facilitate special arrangements (e.g., scribing).
• Support students with medical needs and mobility issues, and provide personal care where required.
• Assist students in Information Learning Technology use, library, and ALS facilities.
• Contribute to departmental aims and meetings; support developments.
• Participate in Open Evenings, Year 11 Reviews and Transition meetings; promote College Policies.
• Engage in staff development opportunities to improve effectiveness and skills
