JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

WPI's Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is seeking a Learning Support Technician whose primary responsibilities include monitoring and assisting students, faculty, and staff in Electronics and Mechanics. Duties involve updating, ordering, and dispensing electrical and mechanical components, teaching soldering, troubleshooting, and fabrication of circuits and projects using Multisim/Labview, Ultiboard, and Solidworks. Knowledge of machine shop equipment and materials fabrication is also required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Fabricate and troubleshoot electrical and mechanical projects.
  • Assist faculty, students, and staff with technical problems.
  • Manage student project accounts and inventory of components and materials.
  • Help find information on parts and equipment.
  • Assist in maintenance of shop equipment and PCs, including cleaning and hardware replacement.
  • Support students in troubleshooting projects and software issues.
  • Manage stock of components, kits, and reference materials.
  • Order supplies with approval.
  • Oversee student use of shop tools and equipment.
  • Create class demonstrations under faculty supervision.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Associate degree
  • 2-10 years of experience

Hourly pay: $21.25 - $26.01. This is an on-site, 40-hour/week position with benefits including retirement, wellness perks, and tuition assistance.
