A local educational authority in Edinburgh seeks a Support For Learning Teacher to provide quality education for children, particularly those with Additional Support Needs. The role requires collaboration with colleagues and specialist agencies to support effective learning environments. A Qualified Teacher Status is necessary, and the role requires adaptability in a team-oriented setting. This position offers an opportunity to work with a diverse student population in a supportive educational framework.
Support For Learning Teacher – Preston Street Primary School
Salary: £33,594 - £50,589 (pro rata for part time). Hours: 23.1 per week. Monday to Wednesday.
The teacher appointed to this post will be expected to have a sound knowledge of current trends in effective learning and teaching, have experience of teaching across a wide range of classes and have the knowledge and skills to identify and support children with a range of Additional Support Needs.
This will involve working as part of a team to create effective learning environments to support the learning of individuals and groups of children.
Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
