Job summary

Trigon-Recruitment is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Practitioner for the Prison Education team at HMP Highpoint. You will support learners with additional learning needs, helping them build confidence and achieve educational goals, in collaboration with tutors, trainers and prison staff.

The role focuses on inclusion, learner development, and rehabilitation, with opportunities for ongoing training and professional development. On-site role at HMP Highpoint.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/Level 4 or above.
• Experience supporting learners with SEND or additional learning needs.
• Good IT and administrative skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a learner caseload and maintain accurate records.
• Passion for helping learners overcome barriers and achieve their potential.

Responsibilities

• Build positive relationships with learners to understand needs.
• Provide one-to-one and in-class support for learners with additional learning needs.
• Assist learners to develop confidence, independence and self-advocacy.
• Encourage engagement, attendance and achievement across programmes.
• Monitor wellbeing and conduct progress reviews.
