Job summary

Barnet and Southgate College in London is seeking an Additional Learning Support Practitioner to help students with SEND engage in learning and develop everyday skills. Personal care is an essential part of this role.

You will work alongside lecturers and support staff to provide individualised assistance, adapting activities and supporting communication, engagement and independence. An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in education, SEND support or a relevant care setting.
• Practical experience delivering personal care.
• An enhanced adult and child DBS registered on the Update Service.
• Flexible approach to supporting different learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Adapting learning activities under the direction of teaching staff.
• Supporting students' communication, engagement and independence.
• Delivering personal care in accordance with individual needs and care plans.
• Helping students work towards their learning and EHCP outcomes.
• Promoting safeguarding, dignity and inclusion.
