Overview

Aspire People are recruiting on behalf of one of the schools in Smethwick. Learning Support Practitioner to work across both schools within our Focus Provision for Autism.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and small group support within Focus Provision classes.
  • Work alongside the class teacher and Focus Provision team to create resources, including visual aids to support understanding, developing key vocabulary and supporting children with specific targets.
  • Work with a range of children across the primary age range and be flexible and adaptable to each child\'s needs.
  • Use autism-specific approaches and a range of communication strategies to support teaching and learning.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Experience of working with autistic children, using a range of communication strategies and autism-specific approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Ability to work across two schools within the Focus Provision.
  • DBS check (Disclose and Barring Service) required; safeguarding commitment.
