Overview

Learning Support Practitioner — To work with our Autistic Focus provision pupils

Devonshire Infant and Junior Academies are seeking a Learning Support Practitioner to work across both schools within our Focus Provision for Autism.

Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and small group support within the Focus Provision classes.
  • Work alongside the class teacher and Focus Provision team to create resources, including visual aids to support understanding, developing key vocabulary and supporting children with specific targets.
  • Support a range of children across the primary age range with flexible and adaptable approaches to meet each child’s needs.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Experience of working with autistic children, using a range of communication strategies and autism-specific approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Ongoing training and support will be provided.
  • This role is part of our newly reformed Focus Provision with dedicated classrooms and sensory rooms in each school.

Working Arrangements
  • Hours: 30.5 hours per week, term time + 5 training days
  • Grade: Grade D SCP 9-17 £20,046 - £22,916 per annum
