Job description
28.5 hours per week

Temporary up to 31 March 2026

We are looking for a passionate, inspiring and conscientious Learning Support Officer to join the high motivated team at Tremains Primary School. The Governing Body are looking for a professional and ambitious person with a passion for transforming our pupils learning at various stages of development.

This position offers a great opportunity to join our dedicated team in delivering high quality academic and personal support to our pupils. We require someone who can enable learners to achieve their best with the ability and skills to engage, relate to and nurture primary aged pupils. Secure knowledge of literacy and numeracy intervention and wellbeing is essential.

We would expect that the successful applicant would be able to demonstrate, or be able to develop, the knowledge and skills to deliver interventions appropriate to children working behind expectations in this age range. Knowledge and understanding of Thrive and ELSA is essential.

The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.

Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.

An Enhanced with Childrens Barred list criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
