Job summary

Bearwood Primary School is seeking a Learning Support Assistant and Lunchtime Supervisor to join a dedicated team. You will support children with learning needs and contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment during lessons and lunchtimes.

You will work closely with teaching staff to promote independent learning and engage pupils through varied instructional approaches, while maintaining strong communication with the school community.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children in primary education.
• Able to articulate and support teaching and learning.
• Understanding of therapeutic approaches for children who have experienced early life trauma.
• Knowledge of inclusion strategies to support children with SEND.
• Ability to engage learners and move learning forward.
• Good communication with the school community and team collaboration.
• Motivated, enthusiastic, reflective and committed to professional development.
• Sound literacy and numeracy skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality support to individuals and groups of pupils.
• Promote independence and learning through targeted assistance.
• Support individual children with learning needs if required.
• Work closely with the teaching team to make lessons and lunchtimes valuable.
