Job summary

North Star is seeking two Learning Support Assistants to support the class teacher in groups or one-to-one with pupils. You will help with core reading and phonics, assist with extra-curricular activities, and communicate with a range of stakeholders in a structured, supportive environment.

These fixed-term roles require 35 hours per week over 39 weeks per year, with a salary between £24,836 and £26,509 per annum.

Qualifications

• Good understanding of primary and/or secondary curriculum.
• Experience in learning/childcare setting required.
• Ability to support reading and phonics for early readers.
• Support our extra-curricular activities programme.
• Flexible, adaptable and positive attitude in a structured environment.
• Effective communication with a range of stakeholders.

We have two fixed term positions available for enthusiastic and committed Learning Support Assistants to provide support to the class teacher in groups or to individual children.

• A good understanding of primary and/or secondary curriculum.
• At least one years' experience of working in a learning/childcare setting.
• The ability to support reading and phonics for those students at the early stages of reading.
• The ability to support our programme of extra-curricular activities.
• A flexible, adaptable and positive attitude to working in a structured environment.
• The ability to effectively communicate with a range of stakeholders.
• The skills of empathy, listening, communication and the ability to respond to unexpressed need.
• A willingness to undertake the further training that will be offered.
