Learning Support Assistant – UB8
Location: Uxbridge UB8
Salary: £89 per day (PAYE)
Contract Type: Full-time – 8:30 am – 4:30 pm

About the Role

The school in Uxbridge is seeking a compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join its dedicated team. The school provides a nurturing environment for students with additional learning needs, including moderate to severe learning difficulties, sensory processing challenges, and communication disorders. If you have healthcare or care experience and are passionate about supporting students' development, this could be a rewarding opportunity.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students' academic and personal growth, ensuring their needs are met in a safe, inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with SEND in classroom and care settings.
  2. Assist with personal care tasks, including manual handling and peg feeding.
  3. Support students with challenging behaviors and help maintain a positive, structured environment.
  4. Collaborate with teachers and staff to support students' learning and wellbeing.
  5. Assist with medical care, including epilepsy care (training provided).
  6. Ensure students’ physical, emotional, and social needs are met throughout the school day.
Skills and Experience Required
  1. Enhanced Child and Adult DBS.
  2. Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with students and colleagues.
  3. Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students.
  4. Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
