Job Description:

We are currently seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEMH/SLD provision in Nuneaton. As a Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to use restorative practices to support students in their social and emotional development.

We value empathy highly and encourage staff to build strong relationships with students from the outset. Your role will focus on relationship building, demonstrating academic potential, and social maturity.

Responsibilities:

• Providing 1:1 behaviour support for pupils with challenging behaviour and SEN, including SLD and PMLD.
• Implementing structures to manage challenging behaviour proactively and engagingly.
• Serving as a positive role model and offering nurture support.
• Conducting numeracy and literacy booster sessions outside the classroom.
• De-escalating volatile situations.
• Supporting students aged 11 to 19 across primary and secondary levels.
• Providing personal care as required.
• Demonstrating resilience and adaptability to emotional and behavioural challenges.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with challenging behaviour in educational or support settings. Personal experience with mental health, SLD, PMLD, or Autism is encouraged.

Requirements:

• Enhanced DBS check for Child and Adult, preferably on the update service. Assistance available if needed.
• Two references to verify your suitability.
• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
