Academic Appointments is working with numerous primary schools in Sheffield, seeking passionate, dedicated, and flexible Learning Support Assistants for daily supply and short/long-term roles.

Main duties:
  1. Provide individual and small-group support to pupils with SEN, promoting their engagement and progress in class activities.
  2. Monitor pupils’ responses to learning activities and, where appropriate, modify or adapt activities as agreed with the class teacher to achieve the intended learning outcomes.
  3. Assist in recording lessons and assessments as required by the class teacher.
Requirements:
  1. A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification – CACHE Level 2/3 Certificate in Support Teaching and Learning or equivalent would be advantageous but not essential.
  2. Experience supporting pupils with SEND and/or children working below age-expected levels.
  3. Ability to effectively manage behaviour using positive strategies.
  4. Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
