Job summary

Stockport School is recruiting Learning Support Assistants to assist students with additional learning needs, including those with EHCPs. The role focuses on in-class support, student progress and developing independent learning skills.

It is term-time based at 31.33 hours a week. The school supports staff aiming to move into teaching by applying for PGCE or Schools Direct training. DBS check is enhanced; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• GCSE English and mathematics at grade C or 4 or above.
• Further strong GCSE and/or A Level passes, or equivalent, in other subjects.

Responsibilities

• Support the teaching, learning and progress of students with additional learning needs.
• Provide in-class curriculum support.
• Help students develop their independent learning skills.
• Help young people develop core academic skills.
• Support students' well-being and progress.
• Provide supportive intervention and enrichment supervision.
