Job summary

Chantry Academy in Ipswich is seeking a Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with their learning and well-being. You will work alongside teachers to remove barriers to learning and promote inclusive participation throughout lessons.

The role is part-time and permanent, 12.5 hours per week over Thursday and Friday, 08:30–15:15, within the Active Learning Trust network. A compassionate, collaborative approach and commitment to safeguarding are essential.

Qualifications

• Commitment to inclusion and supporting pupils’ progress, wellbeing and participation.
• Willingness to work within a secondary school environment in Ipswich.
• Ability to support teachers with learning resources and classroom organisation.

Responsibilities

• Support individuals and small groups to access learning and develop independence.
• Assist teachers with classroom organisation and learning resources.
• Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and pupil wellbeing.
• Support pupils during assessments, educational visits and supervisory duties.
• Contribute to pupil records and communication with staff and families.
