A fantastic role has recently become available in a highly regarded specialist school in Oxford.
This highly regarded school in Oxford look after children who have been diagnosed with Autism. Many of these children also have co-existing issues such as social, emotional and mental health needs.
The school need a learning Support assistant to come in and support their students in their day to day activities.
The students that attend this school are between the ages of 4 and 16. Each child has a personalised educational and health care plan and individual intervention plans designed to help them thrive. As a youth mental health worker, you will be part of ensuring that they are able to complete their academic work while also helping them navigate through their emotions. You will also play a part in helping them learn functional life skills, helping them be as independent as possible.
What you can expect as a Learning Support Assistant:
* Deliver specific interventions that have been designed with the student, their needs and goals in mind
* De-escalate any meltdowns and behaviour that may occur
* Help the children work through their big emotions
* Create a safe and engaging learning environment

People who would benefit largely from this role would be psychology graduates a well as those with a background in sport, art, drama or music.
