Job description

Prospero Teaching are currently recruiting for Learning Support Assistants / Mentors to join our client SEN specialist transition centre based in Fareham (PO16). The Centre caters for young people aged 14 - 19 years old with SEMH issues and autism. The centre aims to help transition their learners into full-time education or into employment.


CONTRACT DETAILS
  1. Location - Fareham (PO16)
  2. Contract or position start date - ASAP
  3. Full time/part time - Full time
  4. Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate GBP13.96 per hour
  5. Hours - 08:00 - 16:00

Experience, Training and Qualifications:
  1. Calming mannerisms in challenging situations.
  2. Strong behaviour management skills while creating a fun learning environment.
  3. Driven to motivate the pupil and increase his participation.
  4. The ability to grow individual personal development.
  5. Be caring, patient and have good communication skills.
  6. Be self-reflective, have a willingness to learn and demonstrate initiative.
  7. Experience supporting an individual with Autism/SEMH.

Eligibility Requirements:
  1. Hold right to work in the UK.
  2. Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application.
  3. Provide two professional child-related references.
