GSL Education are welcoming applications from dedicated and compassionate individuals for the role of Learning Support Assistant (LSA) in Weymouth. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity, available for an immediate start, working within a nurturing and inclusive educational setting that supports pupils with diverse SEN needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEN, including those with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
  • Adapt resources and learning activities to suit individual needs.
  • Promote pupils self-esteem, confidence, and independence through targeted support.
  • Assist the class teacher in managing behaviour and implementing behaviour support plans.
  • Monitor and record pupil progress in line with EHCP targets.
  • Help to foster a safe, supportive, and respectful classroom culture.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience working with children or young people in an educational or care setting, ideally within SEN environments.
  • Strong communication, patience, and interpersonal skills.
  • A genuine commitment to supporting the needs of pupils with additional needs.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • A relevant qualification in education or support work is desirable but not essential.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are beneficial but not essential.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
