A supportive school in Littlehampton is seeking a Learning Support Assistantto provide targeted support for pupils who require additional help in the classroom. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real impact on young learners’ educational journey.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with additional learning needs.
  • Assist teachers in delivering lessons by preparing resources and adapting materials.
  • Encourage pupil engagement, independence, and confidence in the classroom.
  • Support behaviour management strategies to create a positive and inclusive environment.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and parents to ensure pupils’ progress.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a classroom or support role is desirable.
  • Knowledge of supporting children with SEN or additional needs is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, empathy, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to remain patient, adaptable, and resilient.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
  • Provide a full, up-to-date CV with explanations for any gaps in employment in the last 10 years.
