Learning Support Assistant - Primary School - September Start - Guildford

Location: Guildford

Contract: Full-time | Ongoing

Are you passionate about supporting young learners and helping them reach their full potential?

Academics are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Guildford this September. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children on a one-to-one basis and in small groups to build confidence, improve core skills, and encourage independent learning.

Key Responsibilities:

Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons.

Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning activities.

Provide support in literacy, numeracy, and other core areas.

Prepare and organise teaching resources.

Monitor student progress and give feedback to teachers.

Promote positive behaviour and assist in classroom management.

Offer targeted support for pupils with additional or special educational needs.

Communicate regularly with teachers and parents to support student development.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Previous experience working in a classroom or school setting (preferred).

A calm, patient, and encouraging approach.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

An understanding of different learning styles and support strategies.

A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) is desirable.
