Job summary

Principal Education is seeking a Learning Support Assistant for a secondary school from September. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or postgraduate looking to pursue careers in teaching, psychology, therapy, or education.

You will work with GCSE students, providing one-to-one and small-group support, helping them access the curriculum and build confidence. No extensive prior experience is required; the right attitude and potential matter most.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one and small-group support to GCSE students
• Support students with a range of learning needs to access the curriculum
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students
• Work with teachers to support students in the classroom
• Help students develop literacy, numeracy and independent learning skills
• Support bilingual and EAL students and adapt approaches accordingly
• Encourage engagement with education and greater independence
• Remain calm, patient and empathetic when guiding students
• Be flexible and willing to work across different subjects and classes
• Contribute to the wider school environment and collaborate with staff
