About the role

As a Learning Support Assistant, with a drive to improve the life chances of young people through education, the successful applicant:

  • Will be looking for a full-time role and have the empathy and compassion required to support young people with barriers to learning.
  • have experience of working with children on a 1 to 1, group, and in-class basis.
  • Have a Teaching and Learning qualification level 2 or higher

The successful candidate will work within the learning support and inclusion team to deliver interventions to students with identified learning needs. There will be times when the support will be in groups, 1:1 support and in class. Learning Support Assistants may sometimes support with pastoral needs as they arrise.

This is a full-time ongoing role, required from October 2025.

Requirements

To be considered for the role of Learning Support Assistant you will:

  • Be able to work 1:1 with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviour and who will have Special Educational Needs
  • Have a warm and caring personality
  • Have a genuine desire to help students with complex needs

Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:

  • Have a minimum of 6 weeks relevant school-based experience
  • Have a Teaching Assistant qualification
