Hours: 37 hours per week / Term-Time Only (39 weeks)

Overview

TeacherActive are working in partnership with a number of Secondary Schools across the Warwickshire to recruit for SEND Behaviour Support & Restorative Practice Leads. This is a fantastic opportunity to work within Inclusion and Behaviour Support departments, focusing on restorative practices and helping the most vulnerable students succeed in their education.

Main Purpose of the Role

To lead restorative approaches and provide consistent, structured behaviour and pastoral support to students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). You ll work closely with staff, parents, and students to support behaviour regulation, reintegration, and academic reflection ensuring barriers to learning are addressed and positive outcomes are achieved.

Key Responsibilities Restorative & Reflective Practice
  • Lead restorative practice within the Inclusion area and help roll it out school-wide.

  • Engage students in behaviour reflection and guide them toward making better choices.

  • Support staff and students in resolving conflict through restorative conversations.

  • Develop and deliver training and resources to embed reflective practice across the school.

SEND & Vulnerable Student Support
  • Work 1:1 or in small groups with students requiring extra behavioural support.

  • Contribute to and implement pastoral and behaviour support plans.

  • Mentor students to promote successful classroom reintegration.

  • Liaise with SENCOs and pastoral teams to ensure joined-up support strategies.

  • Communicate with parents/carers to reinforce school-based support at home.

Behaviour Support Room (BSR) Leadership
  • Supervise and lead day-to-day operations of the Behaviour Support Room.

  • Ensure a calm, structured environment with appropriate academic or reflective tasks.

  • Identify triggers and patterns of behaviour and work with staff to mitigate them.

Other Duties
  • Be flexible in rotating across behaviour support spaces (e.g., BSR, LEAP, The Bridge).

  • Maintain safeguarding standards and promote student wellbeing at all times.

Candidate Requirements
  • Essential: Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching & Learning or equivalent.

  • Minimum 6 months of experience working with children or young people (preferably in SEND or behavioural support settings).

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

  • Valid enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

  • Calm, patient, and compassionate approach to working with vulnerable learners.

  • Confident managing challenging behaviours and using de-escalation techniques.
