Job description

Think FE, working in partnership with a Northamptonshire college, is seeking an enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant with a kind and caring nature to join their team.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (38 weeks per year)
Salary: £20,000 per annum (pro rata to the full-time equivalent of £24,100 per annum)

About the Role:
As a Learning Support Assistant (LSA), you ll work directly with learners who benefit from extra help particularly those in vocational programmes (e.g., agriculture, sports, construction) or with high needs. Your role helps build their confidence, independence, and enjoyment of learning.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students with their educational needs to ensure they succeed and reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with tutors during practical lessons.
  • Encourage independent learning among students.
  • Participate in outdoor and hands-on classroom environments.

Requirements:

  • GCSE Maths and English at Grade C or above (or equivalent).
  • Enthusiastic and positive attitude towards supporting young people.
  • Experience working with Special Educational Needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to clearly explain suitability and motivation for the role in the application.
