Are you looking for a full-time, long-term role where you can make a real difference in a child s life?

Supply Desk are working in partnership with a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school in Maidstone, known for its strong sense of community and commitment to nurturing every child. The school are looking to appoint a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

This is a full-time, long-term position starting in September 2025 and continuing for at least the full academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide consistent 1:1 support for a Year 1 child with ASD, tailored to their individual needs.
  • Implement personalised strategies and interventions to support communication, emotional regulation, and engagement.
  • Support learning both inside and outside the classroom to promote progress across key development areas.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCO, and other staff to ensure effective support and continuity.
  • Encourage and praise positive behaviour, promoting the pupil s confidence and self-esteem.
  • Safely use learning materials and adhere to all safeguarding and school policies.

What We re Looking For:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children with SEND, particularly Autism.
  • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with both staff and parents.
  • Ability to remain consistent, flexible, and resilient in a role that requires emotional intelligence.
  • Ideally, you are a driver due to the school's location and limited public transport access.
  • A commitment to supporting the child throughout the academic year (minimum 12-month contract).
