Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join the Learning Support Department of a sixth form college in the Southampton area. You will support students with additional needs, including autism, ADHD and dyslexia, in classroom and small-group settings to access learning and build independence.

The role runs full-time, initially until the end of October, with a strong likelihood of extension for the right candidate. Competitive daily pay varies with experience.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with additional needs (Autism, ADHD, dyslexia, or learning differences).
• Ability to work one-to-one or in small groups to promote engagement and progress.
• Strong communication and relationship-building with students and staff.
• Willingness to work as part of a collaborative Learning Support team.

Responsibilities

• Provide classroom-based support for students with additional learning needs.
• Work one-to-one or in small groups to promote engagement and progress.
• Assist students in accessing lesson content across subjects.
• Support development of study skills, organisation, confidence and independence.
• Liaise with teachers and Learning Support staff to ensure appropriate support.
• Help create an inclusive and positive learning environment.
