Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a Learning Support Assistant in the Bushey area to help pupils access learning in a welcoming school setting. You will work closely with teachers to support individual pupils, small groups and the wider class, fostering confidence and achievement.

The role involves one-to-one and group support, classroom preparation, and maintaining a positive, inclusive environment. A positive, patient approach and safeguarding knowledge are essential. Start ASAP.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or educational setting is desirable.
• Positive, patient and supportive approach to working with young people.
• Good behaviour management skills.
• Knowledge of safeguarding.
• Primary or secondary school experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with their learning both in the classroom and during small group or one-to-one interventions.
• Assist teachers in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons.
• Help pupils remain focused, motivated and fully engaged in learning activities.
• Provide additional support to pupils with varying learning needs where required.
• Encourage positive behaviour, confidence and independence.
• Support pupils' social, emotional and academic development.
• Assist with classroom preparation, learning resources and general classroom organisation.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
• Help maintain a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
