  • Daily Rate: £120 per day
  • Location: Rural Horsham, West Sussex
  • Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant (TA)/Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to provide one-on-one and small class support for secondary aged boys who have SEMH. This role is based in a school located in the picturesque countryside of West Sussex, which boasts state-of-the-art facilities and a commitment to the holistic development of its pupils. You will be working within either the Forest School, Design Technology, or Science departments.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Work closely with a child who has complex emotional needs, ensuring proactive intervention to maintain a calm learning environment.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with pupils, exercising appropriate authority and acting decisively when necessary.
  • Understand the educational needs of pupils and tailor support to meet these needs.
  • Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and the organisation of the classroom to create an engaging learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor student progress and provide targeted support to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Engage with pupils to foster a sense of community and serve as a positive role model.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Proven experience working with children, especially those with complex emotional needs.
  • Strong capability to support KS3 and KS4 students.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • A genuine passion for helping students succeed and thrive.
  • A driving licence is essential due to the rural location of the school.
