Job summary

Connex Education is seeking dedicated Learning Support Assistants to support pupils with additional needs in SEN primary settings across Rotherham. This role offers flexible day-to-day supply, short-term placements, and long-term opportunities within a large trust and local schools.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, help pupils access learning activities, and contribute to safeguarding and inclusive classroom routines.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN is desirable but not essential.
• Background in schools, care, or youth work is advantageous.
• Passion for helping children with additional needs to succeed.
• Flexible, patient, and resilient approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for students.
• Support pupils in accessing learning activities and classroom routines.
• Use supportive strategies to meet pupils’ communication, interaction, emotional, and learning needs.
• Promote independence, confidence, and positive engagement in learning.
• Adapt support to reflect individual pupil needs and targets, including EHCP outcomes where appropriate.
• Provide emotional support where required, in line with school policies and training.
• Help maintain a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment for all learners.
